        Know where your coffee comes from

        More than 1,400 smallholder families in the Uraga district, in Ethiopia's Guji zone, deliver their coffee cherries to Walichu Wachu, a local company that has been processing and exporting coffee since 2017. Guji is one of Ethiopia's best-known coffee regions: here the coffee grows at around 2,170 metres on small family plots, often in the shade of other trees, and the cool nights let the cherries ripen slowly. Goro Muda is a natural: the whole cherries dry slowly in the sun before the beans are taken out, which gives the coffee its sweet, fruity character. We have been buying from Walichu Wachu for more than four years.

        How it's roasted

        Quinten roasts this coffee for espresso, with plenty of heat early in the roast so the fruit stays bright and the body round. In the cup you can expect apricot, blueberry and honey, with a sweet, juicy body.
