1. Know your coffee's origin

Costa Rica San Isidro for espresso comes from Hacienda San Isidro Labrador, a fully family-run farm in the hills of Dota, in the renowned Tarrazú region. Matias Monge Naranjo, along with his son Johel, oversees every step of the process — from cultivation to drying — all on-site.

The farm lies at 1850 meters above sea level in the Los Santos area, where ideal conditions for coffee cultivation produce vibrant, high-quality beans. We’ve been working with the Monge Naranjo family for several years, and their consistency and care shine through in every harvest.

Tarrazú region

Tarrazú is one of the most celebrated coffee-growing regions in Costa Rica — known for its high altitudes, rich volcanic soils, and ideal climate conditions. These natural advantages, combined with generations of coffee-growing expertise, make it a region synonymous with quality.

Coffees from Tarrazú are often praised for their clarity, brightness, and complex flavor profiles. In San Isidro’s case, the elevation and microclimate of the Los Santos area result in a coffee that’s elegant, sweet, and rich in floral and fruity characteristics.

Costa Rica San Isidro is roasted specifically for espresso to highlight its body, sweetness, and floral complexity. The roast profile is designed with a longer development time, allowing for gentle caramelization that enhances the syrupy mouthfeel and fruity finish.

By tailoring the roast to espresso, we ensure balance in the cup — maintaining clarity in the more delicate flavors, while amplifying depth and smoothness.

This coffee truly shines as a straight espresso, where its floral aromatics and layered fruit notes can be fully appreciated. The syrupy body makes it especially satisfying on its own, but it also works beautifully as a base for milk drinks like cortados or flat whites — adding a gentle almond sweetness and a soft herbal touch.

Whether you enjoy it for its complexity or its sweetness, Costa Rica San Isidro for espresso offers a refined and rewarding cup.
